Joshua McNamara Mamenchisaurus

Week 9

    Mamenchisaurus

This was the largest dinosaur in Jurassic Park at 16.46m[54feet] in height 26.03m in length and a whopping 63.490kg[70tonnes] but in real life it stood 11meters in height weighed 27.000kg [13.5tons] and was 20meters in length.

Like Dilophosaurus it made one appearance.  This titan lived in the late Jurassic period in China. It would have roamed large open grassland where food was plentiful. Even though it made one appearance it was still the largest dinosaur in the movie!

Well that is all for today, next week it will be on Pachycephalosaurus.

So until then joshua out.

          The end

Joshua McNamara Stegosaurus

Week 8

      Stegosaurus

In Jurassic Park it stood 4.93m [16.2 feet] in hEight 10.1m [33.1 feet] in length and weighed over 3,083,8kg [3.4 tons] This was a heavy dinosaur and in real life it stood 14/4.3m in height 30[9.1 m] in length and weighed over 11.700-15.400[5.3-7 metric]tons. Its appearance has confused scientists since it was discovered. It lived in Western North Mmerica in forests and plains.

This may look like a dosel creature but it is far from friendly. At the end of its tall are four long sharp spikes

If threatened it woulds swing those spikes at tremendous force. It could kill a human but wound its predators well. The plates on the back of the beast are very mysterious. What they were used for some people thought they were used to cool down or to impress a mate but what scientists really think that if threatened the Stegosaurus would stand its ground and flush blood into its plates make it look taller and bigger than its opponent and if that didn’t work then it would swing its tall at its opponent.

Stegosaurus is an unexplainable dinosaur and that is what makes it so unique. I hope to see it in Jurassic World Dominion.

Next week is Mamenchisaurus so until then

James Barry’s 150km Run for Charity

150km Run by James Barry

The past 8 weeks I have been participating in a 150km running challenge, to help raise money for Our Lady’s Children’s hospital Crumlin. To drive this distance, it would be the equivalent of driving from the school of the holy spirit to cork city. During lunchtimes Ms Houlihan and myself have ran various distances and routes throughout Kilkenny. I have 4 more weeks to complete this challenge.

Compsognathus by Joshua McNamara

 Jurassic Park

The Lost World

In The lost world  John Hammond had another island the dinosaurs were made on.  The island then transferred to the park. The islands were named Isla Sorna, one of the five islands together they are called the five deaths

And what better way to start this blog than with the smallest dinosaur on the island

Week 7

   Compsognathus

This may look cute but never underestimate this beast in Jurassic Park. It stood 0.41m[1.3feet] 1meter in length[3.3feet and weighted 2kg[4.4lbs]

But in real life

it stood 0.4meters tall 60-90meters in length and weighed over 5.5kg[12pounds]. This little creature may not look like much but it is dangerous in Jurassic Park. They live together. In packs of 25 individuals , they can bring down a fully grown man. Like all the other dinosaurs they changed over time

1997

2003

2018

This little dinosaur has survived lots of movies what the next one has in-store for it, is unknown!

Next week is Stegosaurus so until then

VR

Virtual reality

What is virtual reality

Virtual reality (VR) refers to a computer-generated simulation in which a person can interact within an artificial three-dimensional environment using electronic devices, such as special goggles with a screen or gloves fitted with sensors.

How does VR work

Virtual reality is a way to create a computer-generated environment that immerses the user into a virtual world. When we put on a VR headset it takes us to a simulated set-up making us completely aloof from the actual surroundings.

What is the purpose of VR

Virtual reality technology is used to create immersive experiences that can help educate and even entertain consumers. Outside of its popular gaming use case, virtual reality is applied in a variety of industries, such as medicine, architecture, military, and others.

Thrylos by Nathan McNamara

Thrylos Blog

Week 9

Hello potential Thrylos fans. Nathan the sole proprietor of this enterprise here and I’ll be regaling you on what happens next in Celestial Vol1. We left off when Sek-Eal was descending upon the Earth’s surface rapidly. During his descent, Sek-Eal ran into some turbulence and collided with the glass on his pod, at a young age, he suffered critical amnesia, as he went into a concussion, he instantaneously forgot about Goltek-Zlox and memory of himself being Sek-Eal. When he collided with San Fransican soil, Keith Legend came outside of the mansion in a state of shock, his wife, Wanda Jetson was equally as worried as he was. While they were standing there gazing in wonder at my pod, it opened up, showing baby Sek-Eal. The Legends took him in and then re-christened him ‘Nathan’. Sixteen years later, Nathan Odyseuss Legend, son of Keith Arnold Legend and Wanda Vermillion Jetson of Legend Industries. One of the world’s most efficient technologies manufactures. Nathan, in spite of his trillionaire status and his genius, he gets ridiculed for both his entire life. However he always has friends to support him, as discussed on last fortnight’s blog report, Joshua, Ben, Luke, Robbie and Jason, the Brotet. They essentially converse about comic universes, gaming, off-chance debatable topics etc. Not a day ever goes by when the Brotet are not by his side. One day, the topics of discussion consist of Curt Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy and a device that came with my salvaged pod, and activation of my transcendtal prowess. It starts when Rodrigo Morrison, the establishment’s local bully, starts irritating the crap out of Nathan, provoking him to fight. When Joshua calmly reassures him that people like Rodrigo aren’t deserving of his attention, that’s when his posse moved in, separated Nathan from the Brotet and chanted ‘fight’ as Rod kept landing blows on Nathan as he struggled to defend himself. He’s been in numerous fights before, but those weren’t physical, Nathan just stood in place receiving blows and comments left, right and centre, Rod provokes him to fight, but when he said that Nathan doesn’t have a mother {on account of both dying in a car crash mysteriously a few days back} he intercepted his punch as a storm was brewing around us as his eyes glew an omnipotent colour. If you want to know what happens, Nathan shoved Rodrigo vertically until he collided with the wall twenty feet from where we were standing, as he discharged weird energy. A massive aurora appeared over our heads as a cosmic bolt stuck him down. Rodrigo made it out alive, but Nathan wasn’t sure as to how he could possibly explain himself on account of what happened. When he came to, he saw the Brotet getting him back on his feet. It brought him joy to see them alive again. As Nathan asked them what recently happened, Ben brought him up to speed and when he did, Nthan decided he should run back home to run some tests on his device. When he then realised there were some similarities, to both the storm and the device… well sorry for leaving you in suspense but that’ll be a story for another time. ‘Till then, Non  Possumus Incedre  to you all!
