Adam Sandler by Oscar Browne

Adam Richard Sandler was born on September 9, 1966. He is an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker. After becoming a Saturday Night Live cast member, he went on to star in many Hollywood films, which have combined to earn more than $2 billion at the box office.

Sandler is best known for his comedic roles including Billy Madison (1995), Happy Gilmore (1996), The Waterboy (1998), The Wedding Singer (1998), Big Daddy (1999), Mr. Deeds (2002), 50 First Dates (2004), The Longest Yard (2005), Click (2006), Grown Ups (2010), Just Go with It (2011), Grown Ups 2 (2013), Blended (2014), Murder Mystery (2019) and Hubie Halloween (2020). He also voices Dracula in the Hotel Transylvania franchise (2012–present).

Some of Sandler’s films, such as Jack and Jill (2011), have been widely panned, and Sandler is the holder of three Golden Raspberry Awards and 11 Raspberry Award nominations, more than any other actor but Sylvester Stallone. Conversely, he has earned praise for his dramatic performances in films such as Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Spanglish (2004), Reign Over Me (2007), Funny People (2009), The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) (2017), and Uncut Gems (2019).

Thrylos Blog

Week7

Hey potential Thrylos fans. Nathan Mc Namara the sole proprietor and CEO of Thrylos ready to regale you on the  Character roster in Celestial Vol 1.

Keith Legend: Aged 41, 6’2, trillionaire technology mogul, philanthropist. The Legends started their career in June the 7th 1922 and provided the planet with powerful technology that aided the Allied Forces during the Second World War. Keith is determined and loyal not only toward his employees, clients but toward the company in its entirety.

Wanda Jetson: Aged 37, 5’11, wife of Keith Legend but before she was betrothed to Keith she was CEO of her previous company, Jetson Industries. An independent, secluded technologies developer than Legend. Wanda’s family on her father’s side had a dark history with Francisco Franco. Francisco Franco Bahamonde was a Spanish general who led the Nationalist forces in overthrowing the Second Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War and thereafter ruled over Spain from 1939 to 1975 as a dictator, assuming the title Caudillo. Ever since the Franco Regime, Wanda’s father led a small group of defying Spaniards to Australia to live a happier life. Not much was known about Keith Legend or Wanda Jetson in the entirety of the comic as they only had a small part in the story, however their names are mentioned later on in the story.

Nathan Odysseus Legend ‘Celestial’: Aged 27, 6’. Otherwise known as our protagonist, Celestial. At the young age of 16, Nathan was returning home from another session of school with an entourage of friends. He got into a fight with the local bully, powers surged from him. Foregin power and the signs of a transcendtal. Eleven years later, Nathan faces conflict from numerous ends but he’s always ready to combat them at every end.

Joshua Fossil ‘Prehistoric Fury’: Aged 28, 5’11. Son of Judy Fossil, Joshua is a frequent character in my Thrylos act. He has the ability to shapeshift from human to beast from ancient times or mythical creatures within the restrictions of the planet and it’s customs/mythologies. The closest Joshua had to any fatal injury was the loss of an eye.

Luke: Aged 25, 5’7. A capital member of the Brotet (What I like to address our little entourage as.) and a reliable, solid guy altogether. Friends come and go, but you can always count on people like Luke when the moment comes around.

Robbie: Aged 26, 5’9. Robbie has some relatable traits which can be incorporated when the going gets tough. Robbie and Ben have been seen conversing about movies and series together such as Sons of Anarchy. Luke and Robbie have both graduated from Legend High and got into UCLA.

Ben: Aged 28, 5’7. Ben was and still is a vital addition to the Brotet as a whole in its entirety. The next 11 years, Ben became the COO of Legend Industries as his intentions were to stay closer to Nathan Legend during his endeavours in the company.

Jason: Aged 29, 6’2. Jason has a geographical and musical intellect and is a real relatable guy to be around.

Mallory: Aged 27, 5’11. My love interest. Mallory is my secretary and a lifelong friend. She can be unstable at times but other than that she’s a  reliable, intelligent, independent and resourceful person.

Malcolm Blackton ‘Genesis’: Aged 52, 6’4. Malcolm Blackton is the antagonist of this comic and intends to eliminate the world’s transcendtals simply by temporarily becoming one himself. He builds an army of anti-transcendtal foot soldiers infused with a powerful gene, the physiology of a transcendtal and arm then with anti-transcendtal arms and armour. He will offer humanity and the Earth as a whole, change, peace, prosperity, freedom and justice for all, so long as they abide by his commands. I later realised that when I was 16, Malcolm Blackton killed my parents. My parents defied his proposition, a proposition that’ll involve the forced coalition of Blackton and Legend Industries. I researched his Wikipedia Page and it shows that he even killed his first wife on account of realising her father was transcendtal. Malcolm Blackton appears to be kind and docile on the outside, but on the inside, he’s a genocidal maniac called ‘Genesis’.

Xavier Wilde ‘Velociraptor’: Aged 35, 5’10. Xavier Wilde is Malcolm Blackton’s most prized manhunter. His namesake is not based on the basset hound sized carnivorous  avian Velociraptor, but more on the Velociraptor’s definition from Greek to English: ‘Swift Seizer’. One second you see him, the next you wake up in hell, if lucky.

Collin: Collin is my Advanced Artificial Intelligence. He comes with 100’000 Terabytes of information covering numerous topics, security, technology etc. All that and more topped off with an African accent!

‘Morsus Mihi’: Aged Unknown, Size Unknown. Morsus Mihi has the ability to command the Earth and elements contrasting around it. Morsus Mihi only has one appearance in this comic and it’s midway.

‘Power Monger’: Aged Unknown, Size Unknown. Power Monger was a bionic transcendtal created by Malcolm Blackton and is programmed for one purpose: to rival Celestial. They only fight once in the story. Power Monger has the same moveset as Celestial, just updated with a breakthrough app, it allows him to perform additional

damage to transcendtals.

That’s all for today, next fortnight I’ll be regaling you what happens next in Celestial Volume 1!

Gallimimus by Joshua McNamara

Week 6

          Gallimimus

This is the fastest dinosaur in Jurassic Park to World. They were the dinosaurs that could change their sex in Jurassic Park. They stood 3.01m in height 4.61 meters in length and weight over 400kg. Big right, but in real life it stood 2m tall 6m in length and weighed over 200 kgs. They lived in the late Cretaceous in Mongolia

But what they lacked in size they made up for in speed. They were some of the fastest dinosaurs around the were nearly as fast as the ostrich. They ran at speeds of 56km/h but the ostrich ran at speeds of 70km/h.

Like all the other dinosaurs, Gallimimus also changed over time

1993

2015

2018

Well that is all the Jurassic Park dinosaurs. Next time it will be the dinosaurs of the Lost World and until next time

100km Run by James Barry

100 km Run by James Barry

Over the past five weeks I have been participating in a 100km running challenge.
During my lunchtimes, Ms Houlihan and myself have ran various distances which have led me to complete a distance of 100km.
If you were to drive this distance it would be the equivalent of driving from the school of the Holy Spirit to Curracloe beach in wonderful Wexford.
This has been a tough challenge but one that I have enjoyed. I want to thank Ms Houlihan for her support.

Week 6

Hey potential Thrylos fans. Nathan here and I’m going to be informing you on what happens next in Celestial Vol 1. We left off when I described the background of the Thrylos canonicity, what happens in my act and the first  character roster in my story. So Z-Krlox intends to decimate Goltek-Zlox in the worst way, manipulate a god to incur his wrath on an innocent planet who doesn’t necessarily deserve it. Guard captain Judy Fossil alarms the Royal Family about the Gorgarians arrival. Kur-Zakeo and Nor-Zari arm up for battle, Kur-Zakeo decides to risk his life transporting Sek-Eal, their newborn, to safety. He says that any planet astride from our colony would potentially offer him a better life than they ever will. Nor-Zari leads the Auxiliary Guard, the 21 Garrisons and the Palace Guard to war. Z-Krlox uses the aforementioned “god” to send Goltek-Zlox’s largest moon, Ivviskiik out of orbit and sent it hurtling toward the planet, the god, which resembles a dragon, launches an ether beam towards the moon in question in attempt of dissolving the moon, then it slowly transforms into some form of gravitational vortex, a black hole if you will and is absorbing Humilian and Gorgarian alike. Nor-Zari and Judy just boarded the Gorgarian Mother ship and are ready to resent the Gorgarians rule by terminating Z-Krlox. He wanted to kill the main powers of Goltek-Zlox but was intimately intercepted by Nor-Zari and Judy. Both sides stand. Proclaiming speeches determining the potential outcome of their battle. Fleetmaster Vlord arrives onto the scene, comes raining fire down on Z-Krlox then assaults him with his plasma blade. But Z-Krlox counter attacks with his Phantasmal Halberd and when both weapons collide, a profound flash emanates bright enough to temporarily blind Z-Krlox so Vlord, Nor-Zari and Judy can lay a hell of an onslaught on Z-Krlox. However Z-Krlox counterattacks with a powerful antimatter discharge sending all three packing. His first target was Judy, But Nor-Zari gave her life for her comrade. Z-Krlox said the only reason why he created her was to be the strongest foot-soldier and to not find herself entangled in any bind whatsoever. He was proud and disappointed about the woman she had become now, so he killed her. He phased his hand through her chest and snapped his fingers. Nor-Zari’s eyes and mouth illuminated in a clear silver as she screams, to death. Pissed off, Vlord and Judy prepared a pinsir based assault, Judy had a dagger in hand and while Z-Krlox was focused on Vlord, Judy jabbed her knife into Z-Krlox’s hip and slit down to his ankle. Z-Krlox was done but a robed foot-soldier ended Vlord. Vlord, writhing in pain suddenly passes away. Judy decided to retreat to the Orkaile, a safe haven for those who want to stray away from the war. Unfortunately the Orkaile is exclusive, so without any other warning, they disappeared. Kur-Zakeo made it to the top of the Citadel, put Sek-Eal in a pod set for the nearest star far away from Gorgarian vision. Gorgarians fired upon Kur_Zakeo as Sek-Eal pixalated out of Goltek-Zlox then descended on Earth. Next week I’ll be informing you on what happens next when Sek-Eal descends upon the Earth’s surface, and the potential character roster for the next leg of the story. Non Possumus Incedre!

Why David Fincher’s ‘Mank’ Will Revitalise Cinema by Ben Magnez

Why David Fincher’s ‘Mank’ will Revitalise Cinema

This has been said countless times before and will continue to be said countless more times to come, David Fincher is one if not the most devoted and skilled filmmakers of his time. Incredible films such as Fight Club, Se7en, Zodiac among many others have rightfully cemented him as one of the greatest filmmakers currently working or to have ever worked in the film industry.

He has to be one of the most fascinatingly innovative and artistically genius filmmakers I’ve ever come witness to, hence why I’m waiting with insufferable anticipation for his next film Mank, which will be psychological drama biopic about the life of the famous American writer Herman Jacob Mankiewicz, who was known as “Mank” to his close friends and work colleagues.

The film will chronicle Mank’s life as well as his battle against the renowned American actor and filmmaker Orson Welles over credit for the historically monumental film Citizen Kane. The legendary Gary Oldman will play the lead role of Herman Mankiewicz and Fincher will be using a screenplay written by his late father Jack Fincher as the writing template for the film.

So not only will this film be a sincerely profound and sentimental undertaking for David as he’ll be honouring and paying tribute to his father and his memory by completing his work but also I sincerely believe that this film will give the film industry as well as cinema as a whole the resurgence and revitalisation that it is desperately in need of and long overdue of receiving.

Filmmaking in its entirety is about telling a meaningful and profound story, and as the film industry and the vast majority of cinema as a whole have severely deteriorated and lost all form of depth and meaning over time with the vast majority of people having the shallow desire to provide for themselves and only themselves with no will or desire whatsoever to say or do anything that has any meaning whereas only an increasingly small minority of people who genuinely and sincerely have the desire and will to do justice to the world of expressive art and tell profound stories and give meaningful messages which I commend magnificently.

Yet these people are nonetheless still in an increasingly small minority and are given little to no recognition by the vast majority of demographics with only a small minority of people giving them the praise and recognition that they deserve with a greater number of people dismissing them in favour of the people who don’t care about the things that they do or the message that they put across which genuinely disgusts and angers me.

Yet with this film I sincerely see a sense of genuine hope for a long overdue change of things. Not only will David Fincher be bringing honour to his father’s memory by completing his work but he’ll also be laying the foundation for that small minority of genuine artists and storytellers to grow exponentially and for more people to be given chances to tell stories of their own. David will be paying tribute to an entire generation of storytellers by paying tribute to the man who gave us one of the greatest films to ever have been made and one of the greatest stories to have ever been told.

The message that I interpret that David will be conveying with this film is that the people of that small minority of people who’s soul desire is to tell a story and to send a message can have the chance to grow and to lay the foundation for another age like the one Citizen Kane was given to us in to come to rise, for the profound stories of countless people to overthrow that of the people who have been robbing them of the chance to tell for far too long, an age that David will be laying the foundation for with this film.

Dilophosaurus by Joshua McNamara

Week6

Dilophosaurus

In Jurassic Park this was the stuff of nightmares. This predator hunted in a packs of five. It stood 1.61m in height 3.06 in length and weighed over 300 kgs. It would blind its victims with its venom and then went for the kill, scary right but this is all wrong but that doesn’t mean your safe!

Dilophosaurus in real life stood 6 feet tall 7m [23] in length and weighed over 900 pounds, around the size of a brown bear. It didn’t have any venom but it may have still hunted or scavenged in packs. It lived in North America in the Jurassic period.

So hollywood got a lot of stuff wrong but

it is still pretty scary!

Dilophosaurus only made its appearance in Jurassic Park the first movie. It did come in Jurassic World but only as a hologram

It also changed over the years

1993

2015

It is unknown if Dilophosaurus will be in Jurassic World dominion but i know we haven’t heard the last of this dinosaur

Next week it is Gallimimus

         So until then Joshua out
